1. I have a skin condition calls Keratosis pilaris, (KP), (colloquially “chicken skin”). Sounds disgusting, I know. It is actually a common condition characterized by the appearance of rough, slightly red bumps on the skin. It most often appears on the back, outer sides of the upper arm (though the forearm can also be affected), face, thighs, and buttocks. I get these bumps on my upper arms and thighs. I have tried many moisturizers – very good moisturizers – and none of them made the bumps disappear.
A few months ago I Googled my symptoms and this when I discovered what the condition is called and ways to treat it. Keratosis pilaris is harmless and thus medical treatment is not necessary. However, I wanted to seek treatment for this condition for cosmetic reasons and so I consulted with my dermatologist. She recommended using a moisturizer or lotion. I have been using SeaCare Body Lotion for over a month now and my “bumps” have disappeared. Remember you have to use this on affected areas daily.
If you are looking for a beauty product that smells like lavender or some other sweet smelling herb or flower, then this is the product for you. The consistency of the lotion is thin and does not have a sticky look and feel to it. The smell is very pleasant. The lotion absorbs very rapidly and the smell goes away when the product is absorbed. You have to make a decision whether you really want to cure your skin irritations. I cannot say enough good things about this lotion, which I also use on my hands when they are dry. I would never use this on my face though!
